My family has always served John Cope's Dried Sweet corn for holidays. I remember it well, and I loved it. I am now a senior citizen, and I am happy to find it available at Pennsylvania General Store! Thank you!

Cope's Corn; a family favorite

I was introduced to Cope's corn by my mother-in-law who was raised in Pennsylvania. It's such a unique product! I bought it specifically to serve at Thanksgiving to my own family. It reminds me of better times. It's also a great shelf-stable item.

I miss the corn for Thanksgiving

I am Central PA born and raised. John Copes Dried Corn was a must for Thanksgiving. I made the corn pudding, however my Pacific Nor'west son and husband didn't care for it. Oh well, their loss. I wound up eating the whole thing myself!
Owner Response: We agree with you concerning Copes corn.

I'm a "young" 83 year old female that was introduced to Copes corn and home dried sweet corn since I was a child. It was a Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday staple. I didn't want to end the tradition. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be found even at a couple reliable Mennonite stores. That's when I went to the internet. Thanks to your store I enjoyed my dried corn.

Cope's Dried Sweet Corn has been a staple at our Thanksgiving dinners forever! Started with my Grandmother and I have carried on the tradition with my family. For at least 75 years our Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without Cope's Dried Sweet Corn.
Owner Response: Hello Judy, thank you for the review! We are so happy to be a part of your Thanksgiving!

Growing up in New Holland, Penna. I'm very familiar with Cope's corn. We had it every Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had the stewed style until my aunt served us the baked style. Ever since, neither holiday is complete without the baked copes corn.

Take a dozen ears of sweet corn, cut the corn from the cob, lightly oil a cookie sheet, place the kernels in a 190 degree oven for four hours. Dried corn. Rehydrate 24 hours before serving, cook on low heat with salt, butter and a little sugar.
