You can trust PA General Store to have items in stock, and get the items ordered to you in a timely fashion and good shape. In this case, the ice cream was packed in a sturdy cardboard box and made-for lining of styrofoam blocks, and on the inside, was the ice cream and dry ice. By the time it got to me, there were still remaining pellets of dry ice, and the ice cream was plenty cold. The ice cream assortment is run-of-the-mill. The French vanilla tasted no different than any bargain vanilla. The butterscotch vanilla was missing the butterscotch. The chocolate chip was decent. The peach was big on pink food color and a heavy artificial flavor that barely hinted at peach, and again, they forgot the peach. A thumb up for the raspberry truffle and the butter pecan. Given the cost, I would not do this again.

The ice cream was excellent. I lost access to Bassetts 10 years ago and when I saw I could order it on line I was thrilled. It was delivered on time and the order process was easy. The coffee ice cream was as good as I remembered, the best I've ever tasted.

Bassetts ice cream is the creme de la creme of ice creams, and Pennsylvania General Store did a great job of delivering my order of six cartons, packed in dry ice and in perfect condition. It was the perfect Chanukah/Christmas gift for my spouse, who adores their ice cream.

My sister is in a sling for six weeks as her shoulder came out of its socket. We are originally from Pennsylvania and I went to the University of PA so Bassett's ice cream at the Reading terminal market brings back wonderful memories. My sister just told me again how good the ice cream was.

You cannot beat Bassett Ice Cream, especially the Raspberry Truffle, for the holidays so I ordered 6 pints to be shipped to me in Florida. I wish the shipping cost was a bit lower but I understand that you are limited to what FedEx or UPS charges and you need to ship next day air, else the product would melt, so I don't have too much of a beef with the shipping cost.

For six years I traveled back and forth from CA to PA and would stop in at Reading Terminal every weekend during the fall for pumpkin ice cream....sometimes for breakfast! I am a fan of all things pumpkin, and this ice cream is at the top of the list! Bummed that I won't be in PA this fall, but hoping I might be able to get some delivered. It's that good.
